Endeavor Firmware Library

EFL: practical firmware modules for teams shipping embedded products.

Reusable C firmware modules, ThreadX-centered integrations, embedded services, and bench tools from Endeavor product work. Built for teams that need useful infrastructure without starting from zero.

Why we are packaging this.

Embedded teams keep rebuilding the same practical pieces: byte streams, logging, bounded strings, file transfer, boot/update handoff, field diagnostics, network services, and test fixture glue. EFL is our place to make those pieces easier to find, reuse, evaluate, and support.

The library is portable C first. ThreadX, NetX Duo, FileX, USBX, and GUIX are first-class integration targets where they make sense, but the core module boundaries are intended to stay useful across MCU, RTOS, and bare-metal projects.

First release areas.

Foundation Ready / current

Core runtime helpers

Shared EFL constants, status handling, configuration reporting, bounded strings, deterministic memory helpers, math/conversion utilities, and ring buffers.

Diagnostics Ready / limited

Service and diagnostic interfaces

Reusable command menus, category-based logging, measurement evidence, watchdog boundaries, LED indicators, and support hooks for manufacturing and field service.

Update and data Limited / active

Boot, file, and transfer services

Portable boundaries for bootloader handoff, image confirmation, file access, OTA policy, timestamps, JSON payloads, and bounded upload/download workflows.

Protocols In development

Communications and bus modules

Portable protocol and adapter work for CAN, NMEA 2000, J1939, ISO TP, UART, RS-485, Modbus RTU, HTTP, I2C, and SPI-backed device integration.

Networked devices Product-proven pieces

Cellular and network services

AT-command cellular foundations, CMUX/PPP boundaries, Quectel-oriented modem work, BG95 USB/PPP runtime pieces, and a native NetX SMB client for embedded file access.

Packages Bench and product tools

ThreadX bridges and tool packages

Broader packages that combine firmware with host tools, hardware references, automation helpers, and integration docs for real product and bench workflows.

Release posture

What is closest to useful now.

Core, Strings, Utilities, Console, Log, LED, Boot, File, Memory, Measurement, OTA, Security, Time, Watchdog, and Xfer already have useful module boundaries or implementations, though several are still limited by examples, platform ports, or hardening work.

What is still moving.

CANStack, Cell, UART, RS-485, Modbus, HTTP, I2C, and SPI are active development areas. Some have host tests and strong foundations; others are planned adapter and protocol work that should be evaluated before product use.

Public utilities and examples

Small helpers, examples, reference patterns, and modules where broad public use is the goal.

Low cost

Maintained modules

Reusable components with examples, documentation, compatibility work, updates, and a clearer support path.

Supported

Commercial integration

Paid help for porting, customization, validation, test fixture work, production handoff, and product-specific support.

EFL access

Ask about a module, suggest one, or request integration help.

EFL is early. If one of these modules maps to a product need, start the conversation and we can talk through status, licensing, fit, and support.
